This is a unique problem I have as far as Excel Help is concerned, b/c it is
the Help menu itself with which I have a problem.
I can NOT search the offline Excel help content. However, I CAN browse the
menu (open book option) and choose a topic to display, so it is installed,
but if I attempt to search, I see what appears to be either HTML or XML code
in the reading pane. I have tried to choose the proper options under the
Search button drop-down menu, but to no avail.
My classmates have the same bundled software as I do, and even show the same
selection under the Search button, but their reading pane appears unaffected.
My only thought is that I formerly had a 60 day trial version on my PC, but
I uninstalled that version when I bought the student bundle. All that is left
of that version is the "Activation Assistant" and the option to re-install
the trail version.
Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope!
