Excel 2008, Callouts, and Saving

In an Excel 2008 file, I added a "callout" graphic. I then tried to
save, but couldn't. I then tried to perform a "save as," but that
wouldn't work either.

Is there a bug in Excel that won't allow you to save a worksheet with
callouts?

Thanks,

No bug that I'm aware of & I have no such problem here.

Exactly which Callout shape are you using? What format is the file & what
format are you saving it as?... And please clarify exactly what you mean by
"couldn't" & "wouldn't work". Include any other details about the file as
well as whether you're able to save if you remove the Callout.

Bob,

The file could not be saved after I formatted the callout, which is
line callout 1. Here's what I did: 1) changed the line color to red,
2) changed the pointed part of the line to an arrow, 3) changed the
fill to "none," 4) change the font to Arial, color Black.

Before I formatted the callout I could save the file. After I
formatted the callout I get a "Document not saved" error message. So I
could not save the file, or, if you prefer Excel would not let me save
the file.

I hope this helps. Maybe one of my preference files has become
corrupted.
