I just updated to XP and reinstalled my publisher 98. the
files that i have made previously will not open now,
saying it's a new version, but it's the same! and I NEED
my files, my letterhead, etc. I don't want to make them
all over again. How come they won't open...Help!!

Try this:
Right-click a Publisher file, properties, opens with... change, browse to Publisher.
Works sometimes...

Hey, hope you solve your problem. Ach! We are having,
suddenly, a "similar" tho different issue -- maybe you've
seen. Have been using a Publisher customer address list
that I've had for year. Yesterday, merged 143 envelopes
just fine. Today, added 30 new records. Printed most of
those. Closed Publisher. Had lunch. Went to reopen my
list to delete a couple of records. Instead of opening my
list -- a blank record -- #1 comes up -- as tho I had said
I wanted to CREATE a new list. When I find my list on
drive by using windows explorer, which showes it is there
186kb -- and try to open it -- Error message says: CANNOT
OPEN FILE. Note: It does NOT say: CANNOT FIND FILE.
Help?

Are you using Norton products?
Can you email me a troublesome file? (e-mail address removed)
