Export of data to Excel

Hi

I have established a Master Project using 2003 Standard. When I look
at Resource Usage I can see the resources with their assignments
including their related sub-project(s). On the right hand side of the
screen I have a display that shows, by week, the planned and actual
days per resource per project. My issue is that I cannot export this
data into Excel. The only method seems to be "cut and paste" however
this gives me a problem as the rows with the resource details are only
half those with the planned and actual data. The reason I want to
export the data into Excel is that my management need more views of
resource activity than what Project (Standard) provides. Any ideas
are welcomed.

Thanks

David

Have you tried the Analyze Timescaled Date in Excel wizard?
There is an icon on the Analysis Toolbar.
View/Toolbars/More Toolbars... select Analysis.
The wizard is pretty self explanatory, you can select the data you wish.

One hint. Before you start the wizard, you will want to set the Status Date
somewhere way into the future (such as the program End Date) so the data will
export in its entirety. You can set the Status Date under Project/Project
Information...

Hi Jim

Thanks for the response.

The problem I have found with the Analyze Timescaled Date in Excel
icon is that it does not allow me to copy over the project name(s) so
all I get is the summary of the assignment. I need to be able to see
what project each resource is assigned to. In addition I will add
their respective teams as well (probably using a spare field to
identify this criteria). For example if I have the project names in
Group I can see the project names but I cannot export it.

What I need to see in Excel is:
Date dd/mm dd/mm dd/mm
John Smith Project A 4 3 2
Project B 1 0 3

Then if I total the days and put in another row with availability I
can then see what resource is under/over allocated.

Idealy I will be able to allocate John Smith to a team and then using
Excel I will be able to review all the teams one by one.

Export to Excel seems not to allow me to do this yet the information
is in Project!!

Thanks

David

Sorry - I meant to say if I have team names in Group I can see the
project names and the Group (team) names but cannot export either
field.
