Exporting a Folder in Outlook 2003

Ron J.

On one of my computers I have many different folders in my In Box. I want to
export only one of these folders to another computer also running Outlook
2003. How do I go about doing this?

Thanks for your help.

Create a new pst in Outlook, copy stuff from your default to this. Close the
pst, in Outlook.
Copy this pst to eg Documents folder on other PC. In outlook open it

I'm not sure that I understand. Should I export the folder to a .pst file and
then import it into Outlook on the other computer?

Where in DL's post did he mention "export" or "import"?

Do Not Use Import/Export. Do the following:

Create a new pst (File/New/Outlook Data File) That will show up on your
folder list, then copy stuff to it.

THEN, on the other computer, open the pst you created above by doing a
File/Open/Outlook Data File.

Sorry, but it does not show up in my file list in Outlook. It is actually
located where the outlook.pst file is located and it is also a .pst file. So
I do not see how to copy to it.

Niether Export or Import was mentioned

You say to create a new pst in Outlook and I assume you suggest that I do so
by going to file/new/outlook data file. And then you say "copy stuff from
your default to this". How?

I now have a new data file which sits alongside my outlook.pst file int the
same directory and there is no way to copy an individual folder from
outlook.pst to new.pst.

Also, I want the folder that I am trying to copy to be a folder in the inbox
of the new computer along with other folders that are currently in existence

How do you mean "there's no way to copy an individual folder"? Have you
tried right-clicking on the folder and choosing "copy"?

I don't understand. If you have created a new pst file then it should show
as a second set of Personal Folders in the Navigation pane...
If it doesn't, then do File-Open-Outlook Data File.

I can certainly right click and copy but I do not see the new data file in my
"all mail folders" list.

What version of Outlook? When I right-click on a folder and select "Copy" in
Outlook 2007, I get a dialog box up that shows all folders in all open pst
files....the new file you have created is open, isn't it?

I get the same dialogue box but the new file doesn't appear and yes, it is
open. I think I'll give up on this issue. Thanks for the help.
