Exporting tasks to Excel, but not summaries

Is there a way to export discrete task data to Excel without getting the
Summary Tasks in the data dump? I want to run totals on what I've filtered.
By example, I want to extract all the Critical Path tasks currently in the
project, then get a total from Excel.

Please don't ask WHY I need this info. It is the most rediculous request
I've received to date.

Yes it is possible.
Create a filter. (project menu / filters /more filters / new)
It should have two criteria:

Summary equals no
AND
total slack is less than or equal to 0

Then use that filter in your export map.

Hi,
Depending upon the export, you are using, yes. If you first create a filter
to omit Summary tasks ([Summary] equals No) or modify the filter you are
already using.
Then in the export map select the task filter.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Using Project Pro 2003, I have the checkbox "show related summary rows"
deselected for the Filter and the Group, yet the summary tasks still show up
in the table and in the export. Selecting and deselecting this option has no
effect on the displayed results on my screen.

The only way I've been able to accomplish my data extract is to
1- Create a group based on [Project]
2- Select all
3- Copy & Paste to Excel
4- Delete Line 1 which holds the name of the project (from the group)

As I mentioned earlier, you should explicitly filter for summary tasks using

Summary equals no.
