extra space between tables and shared border

I created a page with a left shared border and an
imbedded tabled inside the shared border to determine the
width I want. I then created a table in the main body
designed to take up 100% (using table properties) of the
remaining space width-wise. In doing this, I still end
up with some dead space between the right side of the
shared border and left side of the table. I know this
because I have a different background color for the page
vs. background colors for the shared border and table. I
can't seem to get rid of this dead space. I would
appreciate any suggestions - I thought I've tried
everything. Thanks.

Additional note: I suspect the extra space is caused by
the default margin set for the page. As per FP2002 help,
I checked page properties to reset my left margin.
Unfortunately I do not have a margin tab under the page
properties menu. Is this a bug or is this option not
available under some other settings?

Use an Include page instead
Shared borders add an unchangeable 24 px spacer cell between the shared border content and the main page content
