Feather Edges

How do I feather (soften) the edges of an object. I am placing a red heart on
a gray background and I would like to soften or feather the edges of the
heart.

I am using Publisher 2003.

I would suggest that you prepare your
heart cutout in an advanced image
editing program / save it in a format
that preserves the transparency and
then import it into Pub2003.

Thanks John,

I will follow your advice and use Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Your
suggestion confirms the limitations of Publisher.

It is not a limitation of Publisher, any more than the failure of Adobe
Photoshop to provide effective Publishing tools is a limitation of
photoShop. You need to use the correct tool for the job.
