fields missing in my outlook 2000 folders and subfolders

all of a sudden my "from" field is missing on a whole group of folders and
subfolders in outlook 2000. is there a way to globally change the fields i
have in all my folders. I just went through about 20 folders and changed
them but have about 80 more to go. Is there a way to set the fields to view
globally?

I am performing the following steps on each folder /sub folder that is
missing the from field:

view
current view
customer current view
fields
add from field
click ok
click ok
