File in use

I currently have a Novell Server v6 all of our files are store on this
server, all of our desktops are winxp pro and some win2k pro, we are
esperiencing a problem when a user opens a file either word or excel on a w/s
and some one tries to open the same file, the second user recieves the
following pop up message.

File in use
<file_name> is locked for editing by '<user_name>'
Open 'Read-Only' or, click 'Notify' to open read-only and receive
notification whe the document is no longer ins use.

I know from previous experience that this has to do with the Novell Client,
there was an article from Microsoft that explain how to fix this on the
client, but I can't find it, this was a couple of years ago.

Does any one know how to resolve this?

You don't want to disable this message, because Word and Excel files
cannot be edited by more than one person at a time.

I assume my response to your original post/thread "Word of Excel" (05/02/03) was not
applicable?
