At home I have office 2000 and XP and when I am in Word or Excel I can open
the File Open box, if i have lots of documents i can type part of a document
name and it will display only those documents that have those characters, i
find this very very useful.
At work I have office 2002 and XP and i cannot do the above, I cannot find
anywhere in Help to set this up
Please help

Hi Jane,

There was a change in that behavior (why? I don't know). To use part of a
file name, type an asterisk before and after the part. For example, to see
only documents whose names contain "word", enter *word* and press Enter or
Tab.
