File size and Publisher

I hve a folder full of images that does not exceed 21 MB.
However, embedded in a 12 X 18 page in Publisher it blows
up to be over 275 MB. What can I do to reduce file size,
but not sacrifice quality in printing? When printing to
commercial copier, it will throw errors and some images
just don't print.

This is a known issue. Publisher 2000 and below stored images in raw
uncompressed format, meaning that there was a massive size increase when
compressed images were inserted. Publisher 2002 and later fix this.

Try making a PDF file and printing from that?

If you are speaking of using Distiller, it also thows an
error code when doing that. So, I presume you are saying
Publisher sucks on big files and has no way of dealing
with it?

I would check with Adobe about your Distiller question. Publisher doesn't
suck on big files, it's just that Publisher 2000 has big files (which I have
distilled many megabytes worth). Publisher 2002/2003 has reduced the file
sizes by 80% in size.

If you are having trouble printing large files to more than one printer
driver, I would suggest checking your disk space.

Nope. Read Brian's post.
