When saving my pp file as pp95 the file file jumps from 1.6kb to 60mb. What am I doing wrong?

Bottom line, you are taking all the compressed pictures and data and
uncompressing them. By saving as a PowerPoint 95 compatible file, you are
disallowing any compression (that didn't arrive until PowerPoint 97).

Unless you are sure the user has to have the file in PowerPoint 95 format, I
would not save it to that format.
