Files not recognizing installed PowerPoint Application

Whenever I try to open a .ppt file from a WinZip file or from an email
attachment, PowerPoint is not recognized as an installed application. I have
to download the file and then view it. I do not have the same problem with MS
Word or Excel.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I updated the control folders and restarted but no luck. I was able to find
PowerPoint Viewer and view .ppt files that are compressed with WinZip but no
luck on editing a file from a Sharepoint Site. It says that the program may
not be installed or that the path may not be correct. Again, no problems with
MS Word and they were installed at the same time from one disk with the 2003
Office Suite.
