Filtering for TODAY

I have a need to create some custom views which will need to filter on tasks
that based upon a date test against today's date. I tried to do this by
typing "TODAY" in the Value field when I set up the filter criteria. It
indeed does work that way, but when I go back into edit mode, I find that it
replaced "TODAY" with "06/02/06" (today's date). I know I can use an
expression to force an entry box when the filter is run, but would prefer not
to have to enter the date each time. Is this possible?

Hi,

Customize a date field with the formula NOW() and in your filter compare to
that field.

That is perhaps not as straightforward as MS should have made ti, but it is
