Fixed Costs

I can view a project's fixed costs when I apply a query
directly against the database or when I vie wthe files
individually insode of Project. All the other views in
PWA are showing 0 for fixed costs. I am assuming that
the PWA views are project level views and since fixed
costs do not roll up to the summary task level that is
the reason why fixed costs can't be seen in views because
they are at the task level. How do you recommend setting
up a custom field to summarize a project's fixed costs???

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

You should use the Portfolio Analyzer. You can add Cost and Actual Cost as
data field (measure), add the projects as row field, Resource list as Page
field.

Now you can select from the resource list the "Project Fixed Cost"
"resource, so you will see the total Fixed cost and actual total fixed costs
for the projects.

I must be missing something because Fixed Cost is not an
option in the fields list to add. Also, by page field,
do you mean the filter?

Kevin,
You can drop
- Cost, and Actual Cost to the "drop totals or detail fields here" area,
- Resources (Resource list) to the "drop filter fields here" area
- Projects to the "Drop row fileds here" area
- if you want, Time to the column fields area,

- and then in the resource list (dropped to the filter filelds area) in the
drop-down list you have to deselect all items, clicking (uncheck the
checkbox before "all"), find "Project Fixed Costs" in the list, and check
the checkbox before it to include only project fixed costs in the table.

Regards

Peter
