Folder detail view

I am running Windows XP Pro and like to look at my folders in detail view. I
have gone into Window's Explorer, tools, folder options, view, and selected
both "reset all folders" & "apply to all folders" after I have changed the
view to detail. As soon as I go to another window, the view changes to
either tiles or icons. This is extremely annoying and I would like to have
my folders all appear as the detail view. Please advise.

Control Panel > Folder Options > View,
place a check next to "Remember each
folder's view settings", then click Apply.

That was already checked, I did go back and check "show content of system
folders", hit apply and now everyting seems to be coming up in detail - odd!
Thanks for the suggestion. If it reverts back, I will post another thread to
this dialogue. Thanks again for responding!
