Folder Icon Changed

J

JCO

My folder icon changed. When viewing with Windows Explorer, it looks like a
normal folder when it should display the icon of a web folder (the folder
with the globe in the middle). I opened it with FrontPage and made a change
to the website. It is working fine but the icon changed.

This started when I had to unzip a copy from my archives into the original
folder path.

Why did it change?
Does it really matter?

It's lost it's hidden desktop.ini file.

Open Notepad and copy and paste the following into it:

[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=_vti_pvt/fpdbw.ico
IconIndex=0
ConfirmFileOp=0
InfoTip=Stores your local web site

Click save as, select all files and name it desktop.ini

and then place it in the root folder for your web.

Or, right click the folder in FrontPage and select Convert to web.

And insure that the file fpdbw.ico is located in that folder.

Yes, should have stated the folder that IconFile= is pointing to. I guess
you could put it in the root also and change the pointer? :<|

I got it corrected.
Thanks for the help. I managed to find the previous _vti_pvt folder.
A couple of folders had to be updated on the website again but that was no
big deal and it is all correct now.
