font problem

Hi,

When I copy and paste text in Powerpoint the text is pasted at a
different size with a different font to the original. Is there a way of
keeping this font/size constant?

Thanks.

If you're pasting into a text placeholder the text size / font is set by the
master slide text style. You can change this by view > master >slide master
and setting a different font

no I'm simply using a basic blank content layout. I need to create
similar text on each page so I'm copying and pasting but the font/size
wont stay as the original that I've copied from (I have to change it
each time). It seems to have a default of Arial size 16.

OK f=different problem!

With the text the size you want right click on the text box around the text
and in the drop down that appears click "set autoshape defaults" All further
pastes will be this size

"f=" isnt some weird message just a finger slip!

I should have said this will also set the default font.

You are a "f="ucking legend. Thank you.

Will if you do as I said the default will change from Arial 16 to whatever
you set which should do what you want.

This sounds similar to my problem but still different. I copied a slide that
has text boxes and a table (and other things...) from one presentation to
another. I used the 'Slides' display at the left. There are several different
fonts and sizes.

When I paste into another presentation, with a different design template,
the font sizes are all bigger. The resulting sizes aren't the same as those
on the master or text box defaults or from the original file defaults (as far
as I can tell). I have no idea where PP is getting those sizes.

How can I get the target paste to have: 1) the sizes from the template, or
2) or the original sizes; 3) or just understand where these sizes are coming
from.

Or, how do I apply the sizes specified in the master to the new slides?
Especially if the new ones aren't formated using the master layout?

*SIGH*
You know, I rememeber a time, say up to about Office XP time, when the
cut/paste always seemed to work mostly as you'd expect. What's happened to
that wonderful feature? It sure seems to have gotten really trashed. I can no
longer figure out what it's trying to do, even when I cut/paste with the same
office app. *SIGH* I've seen behavior that I'm pretty sure are bugs that
weren't there before....
