Footnotes

I have a two-column document. The footnotes are appearing at the end of the
second column. How can I get them to appear normally at the bottom of the
page

Thanks Suzanne. That was one choice I had considered. I also am considering
putting the footnote in a text box at the end of the page, forcing column
breaks to make room. Both choices are clumsy, but work.
