Formaiting a Catalogue merge

Hi I’m trying to do a catalogue merge in pub 2007 from an access data source.
Got it all working ok apart from one of the fields is the price of the
product. Have formatted the field in access to currency and the query that
I’m pulling the data from shows the currency format fine but when I do a
merge in pub its dropping the format and £2.00 is coming at as 2.
I have spent half a day trying to find how to format the text box in pub
with no joy, even having a decimal point in the format world be workable i.e.
2.00
