Format changes when copied

Chuck

Hi,
I am copying tables between open documents (Word 2000)
and find that the font size is larger and the column
widths are altered in the destination document. Does
anyone know why?

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Hi Chuck

You're probably seeing the effect of two different things at once.

First, the font size may change for the reasons explained at http://www.ShaunaKelly.com/word/styles/FormatOfTextChanges.html.

Second, the column widths might change if the table is set to do so. To investigate, click in the table, choose Table > Properties.
On the Table tab, choose Options. If the box "Automatically resize to fit contents" is ticked then Word will re-size column widths
to fit their content.

Hope this helps.
