format individual gantt bars

Please can you tell me if it is possible to format an individual gantt bar
to a different colour

I am following the instructions detailed on the Help, however all gantt bars
are being formatted

Hello Jackie,

To format an individual bar, select the task and choose Format > Bar in
the menu, not Format > Bar Styles.

Umm, can't you simply double click the desired task bar in your gannt chart
and choose a color from the resulting dialog box?
