Formatting Calendar View

Can anyone help with these?

After making a gantt chart for an entire project, I paste the links to
a new project for each employee and print out calendar view schedules
for them. They prefer the ease of reading this view rather than a gantt
chart. I have 3 problems:

1. Split tasks don't show as split in calendar view, even though I see
a "split pattern" option under bar styles.

2. I can't find a way to stop the task bar for tasks that end on a
Friday from running over the weekend boxes. And, tasks that end on a
certain day spill over half day past the due date, causing confusion.

3. When I have too many linked tasks, the calendar simply won't show
them all, I assume because they are stacked and there isn't enough
space. Even when I change the font to 6 point so I can hand-move them,
I can't get them all to show.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Kate,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

In the Calendar view, Format/Bar Styles..., and in the Bar Styles dialog,
select Noncritical and you can choose a pattern for split tasks. If you
remove the tick from Bar rounding, the bars will finish at the exact times.
Repeat for Critical tasks.

Back in the Calendar view, Format/Timescale and select to show a week with 5
days. Incidentally, if you select the Date Shading tab, you can apply an
individual resource's calendar, if that helps.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
