Formatting mail messages

When using Entourage, although I can change the default format, I seem
unable to change the font on a message I am creating and the Bold and
Italic buttons are faded and inoperable. I would also like to adjust
message width.

What have I missed?

You have missed the button to change your mail message to HTML. At the top
left of the body of your message is a button that has a ³abab² with arrows
pointing around them.

Alternately, you can select HTML from the Tools menu when you are composing
an email.

Many thanks - it still does not seem obvious and I have been using
various mail packages for over 10 years!!
