Formatting Toolbar is grayed out and can't use

Hello all,

I have XP, and Microsoft Office 2003 on my computer. When I write an email
I am unable to use the formatting bar... bold, color, etc. The bar is
visible but grayed out..... There must be a setting somewhere which is
prohibiting its use... can anyone help?

In what format are you composing the message? The formatting toolbar will
be unavailable with a Plain Text format message.
