Forms in Word

Rmur

I have a form that I created in Word 2003. When I protect
the form, save it and then go in to enter data into the
form text fields, the next field shifts. I would like to
know if there is a way that I can have a form and lock the
form text field so that they done shift when I enter data
in the preceding field.

Hi Rmur,

Set up a table (turn off its borders if you don't want them) and put each form field in its own cell.

Jay has given you the immediate solution. A longer-term solution is to
really master these. What you are talking about is probably what Word calls
an "online form." Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow
the links at http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms
especially Dian Chapman's series of articles.

Hope this helps,
