Forms

I'm creating a form that will be multiple pages. I would like to find a way
that once a person completes their name on page one, that it will auto fill
in the additional places for name on the rest of the form.

Ideas of how to do this?

From the FAQ

19. How can I enter something once in a document and have it repeat
elsewhere?

You may also want to look into what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.

Either way, no vba or macros are required.

Hope this helps,

That was exactly what I needed! Thank you. Now one more question. On my
form if they mark "no", I want them to be able to automatically skip to the
next question without needing to tab through the "yes" box or explanation
box. Can you help me with this also?

You'll need an on-exit macro that checks the status of the box. It would
then (1) unprotect the form, (2) disable the unwanted form fields, (3)
reprotect the form without resetting the formfield contents, and (4) advance
to the next field. A exercise left for the student, or someone else with a
bit more time.

This has been very helpful and I think I've just about mastered this.
However I am having one problem in the Form Field Options Box. I have check
boxes which I've renamed. I went in and created the Macro and made sure my
document was showing in the Macro in box. However when I go to the Form
Field Options Box and want to list the Macro in the exit box the name of my
macro isn't there. I've tried a new document and it's doing the same thing.
Suggestions?

First of all, make sure the macro you want to assign is a sub and not a
function. If it is a sub, change its current name, save and compile the VBA
code, and see if the macro appears in the drop-down list of available macros
when you are assinging On Enter or On Exit code to a field.

I've run into this problem a number of times in Work 2000 and changing the
name of the sub worked.
