forwarding a note turns editing blue

if I forward a note and edit it at all, it forces in a
space that I didn't type and turns the entry blue.

Why? Can I turn this feature off?

Go to Tools | Options | E-mail Options and clear the box near the bottom
that says "Mark my comments with".

Just to be clear, I meant to say "clear the CHECKbox near the bottom..."

Tried your suggestion, but that box is already unchecked.
There is some text in the box to the right, but it's
greyed out. So that's not the solution to the question I
asked. Any other ideas?
