I was retyping a book and I'm having trouble with its cover. How can I insert
a picture so its visible on the front and back cover, as well as its spine

How wide is your spine?

On an inside page of your booklet, insert your cover image, copy/paste the
copied image exactly on top of the first image. Select the top image, with the
crop tool crop right to the fold line of the page, select the second image, crop
left to the fold line. Position the images on the cover and the back of your
booklet.
You will have to think about how to position your image with the spine in mind.

I'm still having some problems though; it's the first time I ever used
publisher. When I crop the images, the image doesn't move, I just crop a
piece of white. I adjusted the image to the size of the text box

Though I've followed the instructions according to the link you sent me. I
still can't do so properly. I might have missed telling you something: the
images are exactly the same? Is that a problem. Thank you so much

Maltagirl, Can you send me your picture, I will put it on the cover and back
so you can see how it looks or should look.
