Gantt Chart data question

john mcmichael

I have a MS Project 2003 file whose Gantt Chart shows the name of the
resource and the % of time that resource will work on a task. It looks
great. However, I would like the gantt chart to show the number of hours the
resource will work on that task instead of the precent of time assigned. I
dont see an option for that in the Gantt Chart Wizard. Is there a way to
make it happen?

Thanks in advance for the help and have a great day.

Have you tried the Format tab off of the main menu? Select Bar Style
from the selections, then select a bar style and modify its text.

You could select duraton or remaining duration, that is your decision,
if the informaton is available you should be able to show it on your
Gantt Chart.

Hi John,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The % you see is the % of the resource that is allocated, not the time
he/she will work on it. 200% means 2 people, 100% is one (and being the
default, is not shown) and 50% means a person only works half time, etc. If
you want Work to show, try Format/Bar Styles... and select the Text tab.
Select where you want the data to show and from the drop-down arrow select
Work from the pick list.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
