Gantt View Changes

Hi,

I have a Project that was created in the Gantt Chart View with 3 Summary
sections.

When I change the view to 'Tracking Gantt', and then return to the 'Gantt
Chart' view, the first and second summaries have swapped locations, why is
this happening?

This occurs even if I do nothing in the 'Tracking Gantt' and switch back to
the 'Gantt Chart' view.

Both of the summaries retain their respective ID fields - 1 = 1-13 & 2 =
15-26 - and the third summary is unaffected. There are no 'Sorts' specified
and there is a blank task between each summary.

This is not a 'big' problem, just a nuisance really, and I can easily
correct it by selecting and moving summary #1 back to the top, where it
should be, but any assistance or an explanation would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

As an addition and correction to the above, the third summary is affected and
the ID's are mixed up. This is also noted in the second summary, see below.

The sequence for the initial summary is correct 1-13.

The second summary (15 is the summary task) shows 15-19, 21-22, 20, 23-26

The third summary (28 is the summary task) is 28, 37-38, 33, 36, 29-32
(30-32 indented under 29), 34-35, 42-44.

It looks like a sort is being applied when switching between the views, but
this not evident from the data shown.

Sorry if I've misunderstood this, but surely when these activities are
swapped, then the tasks can't be in ID order so what effect does forcing
the application to sort by ID have?

Does the plan contain any macros?

Hi Dave,

First off, there are no macros.

I can solve the problem by sorting by ID, I just wonder *why* it's happening
just by switching between views.
