Graphic & Text Box Selection

In Word 2002, using a calendar table template, I have inserted a number of
graphics and text boxes. There are a few graphics and text boxes I need to
move or eliminate, but I can not select them. No matter where I put the
cursor, I can not get a four-position arrow to select the item. Any help
for solving this problem is appreciated.

On the Drawing toolbar, try clicking the Select Objects tool (2nd from the
left) before trying to select the graphics and text boxes.
