Graphics and Font smoothing

When I insert a .GIF or .JPG into FrontPge andtry to re-size it, the picture
can become blurred and had to read.

If I insert the same picture into Word or Publisher and re-size it, the
picture is much better.

The same with fonts. A font in Frontpage looks choppy but in Word it is
great.

Any ideas?

As for images, you need to resize them in an image editor outside of FrontPage and then import and
insert them in your page.

As for fonts, not sure what you mean

Resizing a graphic in the browser (i.e., FrontPage) is done by 'pixel
doubling'. This produces really awful results for anything but solid blocks
of color and simple line art.

Resizing a graphic in a graphics editor (or a DTP program) uses a cubic
spline interpolation method (or better), which yields fairly nice results.

In either event, if you need to be sure that your graphics are high quality,
your best bet is to create them at the size that they will be ultimately
used. And never, never, resize them in a browser.
