How does someone insert a photo as a backdrop of the
document. Text box does not allow the typing to go
through it. I want it to appear screened as well.

Hi Jeff,

There are a couple of ways to do it. If you want
it on every page you can insert it in the Header
(View=>Header Footer) then select it and from the
Picture toolbar apply 'washout' to it.
In Word 2002 you can use Insert=>Background=>Printed Watermark

You can insert a graphic on a page in Word and
use the picture toolbar to send it behind text
and use washout.
