Grayed Tasks

I have a Master Schedule that links 20 other subschedules to it. I have
noticed within the Master Schedule that there are tasks that appear gray in
color and can not be munipulated, but can be deleted. Some appear to have
references back to the subschedules others do not. Can anyone explain to me
what these are and whether or not I should delete them?

If you double-click on the bar for those tasks, you may well find that the
tasks is a dummy task representing a task linked to in another schedule.
Delete them only if you want to break the link to the other schedule.

Rod,
It does appear that these are dummy tasks representing a talk linked to
another schedule, the issue that I am having is that there are more than on
of these dummy tasks. In some cases it appears two and three times
sequencially with the same description and the same links. I believe I can
simply delete all but one of these links, but I am not sure what is creating
these links. Could it be that as the schedule is being updated and new tasks
added that a new baseline for those tasks that are being saved and this is
creating the duplicate dummy tasks? I have not run across this problem
before.
Thanks,
John
