Gridlines Printing from embedded Excel File in Word 2007

Created a new document in Word 2007 which has embedded excel files
throughout. When printing the document, the gridlines in the excel file area
print and the font is skewed. However, after opening the embedded excel file
(double click) and then close the excel file (with or without changes) the
gridlines will not print, which is what we want.

Under the page layout tab in the embedded excel file, there is a check mark
to view the gridlines and the print option for gridlines is greyed out.

How are we able to print the document without the excel gridlines without
having to go into each embedded excel file and opening/closing prior to
printing?

Try checking Word Options > Advanced > General > Update Automatic Links on
open.
Or
Select the embedded excel file and press F9

Graham--

We tried both suggestions listed below. On the first one the "update
automatic links on open" was alread checked.

Pressing F9 also didn't solve the problem.

Any other ideas? Suggestions?
