Logistics for Newday

Hi,

I wrote a project for an event in Aug 2007 which has about 1000 task lines
in it. I wish to use the same project that I wrote last year for this year's
event which takes place on exactly the same dates. Is there any way to
autocorrect/change the year in the Start and Finish columns without having to
go through the tasks line by line.

Grateful for any suggestions!
Thanks

Hi,

Yes, no sweat.
First, make sure all "actual" information is deleted.
Select all tasks, click the Task Information buitton, set %complete to 0,
OK.
Now you have to know whether there are any tasjk constraints that you want
to be "updated" as well.
If there are, show the analysis toolbar and click the button Adjust Dates
Enter the new Project Start date, ther eyou are.

If there are no constraints in the plan it's even easier: Project menu,
Project information, change the start date

But... why worry about changing all dates? if you have linked your tasks by
dependencies changing the date of the first task wopuld have updated all
anyway :)

Hi Jan,

Thanks very much for your help. I tried what you suggested (I had also got
this far with my colleague) but when I changed the start date, the majority
of task dates simply stayed the same. Also, all the tasks default to the
finish date when I change it, and they do not keep to the date that has been
specified. It is a very simple project plan with no dependencies or
constraints and all tasks are set to 0% complete. Any ideas? Thanks again!
