Has anyone been able to get the feedback page to work?If so, how?

M

Myron

I'm attempting to send feedback to an email address.
My page authorizing for "browse time web components" and author-time web
components" are checked - as set by the defaults. Perhaps I'm missing
something because I do get an error message after entering the email address
into the "send to" box; that message simply says "this form cannot be
configured to send results via email. The web site is located at a disk-based
location. (this I'm well aware of - I make my updates to the disk-based
website - then publish it)...so I'm not sure what the problem is - I would
greatly appreciate any help with this issue. Regards, Myron

You need to publish your web to a server with FrontPage extensions using the
http:// address in order for the form to work.

Yes...thank you - but I have already published and tested the feedback form.
It allows input and shows a confirmation page but no email is delivered...so
- I'm still searching for the problem. Regards, Myron

Is the email address one that is associated with your domain??

If your domain is myweb.com then the form needs to be set to send the email
to (e-mail address removed)

If you're trying to send it to (e-mail address removed) it won't work.

- Steve...you're 100% correct - thank you! One of my web sites coincidently
was set to my same domain and it's the only one that works well...almost.
Oddly it comes in as an error message because there's a misspelling in the
extension. My domain name is @direcway.com and the error points to a "non
existing" mailbox for "@directway.com". Where does that "t" in direct come
from? (so perhaps I can fix it). Maybe it was in my registration of
FrontPage. Maybe this is a whole new problem that I should start a new thread
for. Thanks again, Myron

How long has your domain direcway.com been registered with the domain name
server system??

When I checked, I found that direcway.com is owned by Hughes Network systems.
Domain Name: DIRECWAY.COM

Administrative Contact, Technical Contact:

Hughes Network Systems (e-mail address removed)

11717 Exploration Lane

is this correct??

direcway.com appears to be the ISP, so I'm not sure where this is headed.
;-)

M

Myron

Yes...it's Hughes Network. Oddly the error message is coming back to be - I
don't know how because the destination domain name is misspelled
(directway.com). I am however receiving the entire message after scrolling
past a long cryptic error message. I looked at the programming in the
feedback page but the "directway.com" does not show up. Perhaps, somehow,
it's imbedded in a webbot. Who knows? Do you think it might work to simply
replace this feedback form? Thanks again, Myron

How about posting a link to the page with the form.

This has nothing to do with FrontPage programming, or the thread you
hijacked.
