I am sure that I am not the only one champing at the bit for the release
of this update which will support Exchange. Entourage in OS X has not
worked out for our company and it seems all the Mac users are left high and
dry when it comes to the collaborative features of our Exchange 2000 server.
Wheres the UPDATE?

WHERE IS THE LOVE?? Anyone?

The MS web site is still saying 'summer'. Nobody knows any different.

Chris,

You are so ON! I am a second class citizen until MS delivers an
upgrade for the MAC for their mail server. I cannot really go to OS X
or upgrade to Office X. No reason until the mail component is done.
MS is loosing money and upsetting a lot of users by their lack of
response.

If you only need to access mail, just enable IMAP on the Exchange Server.
If you do, you can set up the account in Entourage and access your mail on
the Exchange Server. You just won't be able to do anything else, like
synchronize/access calendar and contacts.

Here's another related question: Will Exchange compatibility also
bring PocketPC synching?

bring PocketPC synching?

Syncing: yes and no.

It won't let you plug your pocket PC into your mac. However, there are
a couple workarounds:

1) Plug your PocketPC into a PC and sync there. Kind of a pain
(especially if you have to borrow a co-worker's PC) as you have to log
in to that PC and set up your Exchange access there. If there are a
number of Mac users in your organization, you could possibly get an
old clunker PC set up for you all to use as a "walkup" PC.

2) If you have the newest PocketPC OS and your company has either
Exchange 2003 beta or Exchange 2000 and a Microsoft Mobile Information
Server, you can sync via a network connection (wireless or ethernet)
directly with the server.
