Having Multiple "submittors" send me data in infopath

I have a database (initially) empty, but with a table defined. I want to
create a form that I need folks in my company (all over the world) to
complete and have this information update my database (MS Access , for now).

I have created a form, and published it to a sharepoint site, but it seems
that I am the only person that can query the DB through the form and/or
submit data. Others in my company have tried it and get errors asking for
passwords, etc (I had set no security at all on the Access DB).

I think Infopath may be a kill way to gather tons of info, but man, if I
can't give them input folks a form and/or can't get what they submit back
into the DB, it is not much help.

I have looked at a number of books, but while they show you how the create a
form and link it to a DB (this works just fine, for me, personally), no one
else seems to be able to actually use it. Also, none of the books seem to
address how to publish and distribute a form, and how to set up the related
forms and DBs to make it all work. Any suggestions on a reference? Any easy
pointers to "how to" guides to do this?

FYI, my DB is on a 'wide open" file share on MS Server 2003, if that has
anything to do with it.

Two considerations.

Quickly upgrade the backend to SQL Express as unless your WAN is operating
at over 1GB/sec then change it, only a consideration

Two other considerations;

First, it could be an IIS issue but as the error message is for Access i
don't think this likely.

Secondly, is the place the access database is saved a public space? I do
not mean security on the database but somewhere that everyone has FULL
READ/WRITE access. They don't need to know where it is but do need the
above. What i did when i was using access was to create a hidden share on a
sever with open access and put the access databases there.

To test you need someone in your domain to try it first; this should work
anyway as you probably have it available for them, then get someone on the
WAN at the other end of a trusted domain to try it. I think after doing the
above they should have no problem.

Thanks...Actually...I think the solution you gave me in another response
(this one had set around for a few days) answered my question. What is SQL
Express, by the way?????

We do have a lot of bandwidth (T3 backbone) between locations. Thus far,
infopath seems to be returning the info from the Access DB in about 3
seconds. But, am interrested in what SQL express is...I must do some
research...thanks!

I am sure that my problem is related to Pat's in a way. When I start
developing a form to log information into an Access DB, and test the form
through form preview, the form works, and the data is logged. The DB is
stored in a personal folder on our company network. Once I save the form (in
the same folder), data submission does not work, even for me. What could I
look at? The DB itself has no security settings, as I created it for testing
purposes.
