Having problem to save word document

I am using Office 2003, when I try to save word document, there is no
response. even I open an existing document and make changes and try to save
it, there is no response, when i try to close the document it asking " Do
you want sto save the changes to Document? when I click on Yes. and try to
close the same message comes up. only word is having this proble. what can I
do to fix it.

Close Word. Rename the normal.dot file (found in program
files\microsoft office\templates) to a different
extension. Then open Word and it will create a new normal.

If you have customized autotext, macros, styles, etc. in
the rename normal, you can use style organizer to copye
them into the new normal.dot.

I rename the "normal.dot -program
files\microsoft office\templates- and stil I am not able to same documents
in Word.
