Having problem with office 2003

Well I was having problems with word and crashing. Every time I would open
word it would crash on me, so I decided to do a repair after the repair i
recieved this error message: "Microsoft Word has not been installed for the
current user. Please run setup to install the application." I then tried a
reinstall, got the same message. I then did a fresh install by uninstalling
office but to no avail, still got the error messge. I came to microsoft.com
and tried to a help page which I did find. I followed the instructions But
when it came to riight clicking and going to properties then going in the
"security tab" I discovered that there is no "security tab" listed so I can't
finish the instructions.

I also tried creating a new admin account to see if I could do it through
that. I found out that I could actually access word though the new admin
account with no problems.

So how can I go about fixing this problem? I don't want to reformat but I
may have to.

Windows XP Pro
Office 2003

Sounds like you have a problem with the original account, not with
Office or Windows itself. Just finish configuring the new account and
use that.

Finish configuring? But that is all done already. I have been using the
account for like the past 2 months. I believe yes that it is something
probably to do with the account. I would like to try and safe it though!

Save what? The old profile? Why? Not typically worth the time spent.
Copy any docs from the old Doc and settings to the new profile. Suggest
you post the particulars of what you want to do with the profile in a
group for the operating system you are using.

I don't want to do anything really
I just want to save the time of having to transfer everything over
Or is everything accessable from the new admin account that I created?
I have never changed profiles before thats all. I just don't want to loose
any information or files

As long as you aren't using EFS you should be able to access all the
files from the new account.
