Header Question

I have a word document that is basically a phone listing - each paragraph is
formatted as last name, first name, address, phone number. I've been asked
to print it with a header on each page that has the first person's last name
on the page (basically the first word of the first paragraph), the last
person's last name on the page (the first word of the last paragaph), and the
page number.

I've asked around and was told that I'd have to import my word file into
publisher to do this but I can't figure out how to do this. Can someone
please help me?

You need to set this up as a data base. Publisher can merge from a Word data base.

Mary, thank you for getting back to me. Would you give me a bit more
information about this or some links that might help? What kind of database
does this have to be? Would I be able to import my current word document
into it? I don't want to have to reenter all of the information. And how do
I get my headers out of the merge?

Can you send me a sample of how you want this setup?
When you say paragraph, do you mean there is text other than the name, address and
phone number?
If it is a straight forward list then it is a simple merge. In Word, have you put
your information into a table or is it a list? If it is a table then you can merge
the information into Publisher.
There is help here for a merge using Publisher

You can also do this in Word
