headers/footers - how can I save them?

I was wondering how I can save the headers/footers I create in the
"page setup" so I don't have to keep recreating them each time I go to
a different report/view?? Can I do that!?

Kim,
Unfortunately each view is unique as are the settings in Page Setup. As
such even a template file won't really help.

I know of two choices but someone else may have a more clever approach.
The first approach is the old copy and paste. It's tedious but it will
save some time over manually typing in the info for each view. The other
approach is to use a VBA macro to create a page formatting script. It's
a pain to set up, (I find formatting code is the most tedious to set
up), but once it's done you can run it against any view to get what you
need.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kim,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You could use a pasting program to paste in pre-defined text. I use Active
Words for my signatures of which I have a number to suit different
situations. You could get a 60-day trial from: http://www.activewords.com/

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Headers and Footers are part of Page Setup and Page Setup is part of the
particular View.
Each View can have a different Page Setup and hence different Headers and
Footers.
This is a good thing.
If you make a new View (View, More Views) you can store the Headers and
Footers there, then when you want another View you can copy your previous
View and the Headers and Footers will be there straightaway.
