Help! Can't run Word 2003 if Outlook 2003 already open

The reverse is no problem. I'm using Student Office 2003 with Word and
Outlook, I have Word set as my editor for Outlook. Quite often I want
to cut and paste parts of emails into a word doc for other uses. I'm
sure I used to be able to do this, but in any case I can't do it now.

Any suggestions on options etc. that may have caused this?
