Help converting new version to older

I have an old version of MS Publisher. I was given a document that is
saved as the newest Publisher so I cannot open it. I don't have
contact with the person who gave it to me so I can't get it converted.
Is there an application I can download that will allow me to save as
the older version somewhere?

Otherwise, if someone out there has the newer version and is willing to
let me email so that they can convert to older I'd appreciate it. It's
for my church and I need it ASAP.

P.S. I realize I can actually "buy" the newer version however the
church doesn't want to buy it when a newer version is coming out early
next year. We'll get it then.

Thanks!!!

There is no way to do this without someone with the newer version
converting it. Whether or not this is possible depends on the version of
Publisher you have. Formatting will be lost in any case.

I actually had someone do this for me previously. (I no longer have
their contact info.) There was no problem with loss of formatting,
however.

It may not have been noticeable. Most documents of any complexity have
text boxes change their size slightly, and/or words redistribute across
lines differently. WordArt can be especially problematic. Of course,
file size inflates dramatically, as Publisher 2000 and older did not
support compression of embedded images, meaning all images were stored
as raw bitmap images. (This is also why Publisher 2000 and older
documents ZIP so efffectively.)
