HELP: Could not retrieve Enterprise global template error

J

Joao Cortez

Hello,

We access Microsoft Project Professional using Terminal Services. Since last
week, most of the users are getting the error "Could not retrieve Enterprise
global template. There seems to be a problem with the database, please
contact your server administrator." while trying to connect to Project Server.

Does anybody know how to fix this issue?

Thanks a lot!
João

Hi
I have exactly the same situation as Joao, and hoped today for a better
solution,

and I suggest to find a solution alltogether, looking at the sharepoint LOG
file in verbose mode. This question cannot be classified as answered.

Didier,

This newsgroup is largely driven by volunteers who are not Microsoft
employees. We cannot and do not guarentee answers to every question. If you
have some additional info from the ULS logs to share, please post it into the
thread.

I was working with a Microsoft EPM Architect last week who alluded to this
problem at another client site. I'm not aware of a public fix, but that does
not mean that one does not exists.

We worked on this issue, found the issue (thank you Sacha) and solved it. To
share the solution here is our summary report :
if you use Terminal Server the issue is not related to the database but to
the profile and to the need for SP1

main issue comes from the need for EPM 2007 to use roaming profile instead
of local profile so the solution consist in
Delete the local profil on the TSe server to delete the local cache and to
be SURE that you use the roaming profile in pointing to the autorised share
Desinstall Project Pro 2007 on TSE (to be prudent)
Reinstall Project Pro 2007 on TSE - DO NOT USE the TSE last step of
application wizard
install Project Pro 2007 SP1 right after
USE the TSE last step of application wizard

Once the roaming work once, the connexion to PS is know, and will point to
the web application
and it works!
Enjoy
