I just installed Word 2003 on Win XP machine. I was
trying to download a word doc from my Hotmail attachment,
and open it from Temporary folder without saving it to
hard drive(there are 2 options - either you can download
and save it or download and open it without saving)

Apparently after the download, Word cannot find the file.
It pops up an error message saying it can't find the
specified file. The installation process went OK without
any problem. Does any one have similar experience and
have any suggestions? Thanks

FWIW In my own experience,
I have found that I got into a lot of trouble by opening a Word file
(and Excel) directly. I've gotten in the habit of saving, then opening
them.

Save the document to your documents folder and open it from there. It is
asking for trouble opening documents from e-mail attachments. The temporary
storage is volatile and there is the ever present issue of virus
contamination.
