Help Needed with Outlook 2002 Export to File Problem

I

I am using Outlook 2002 "Export to file" to get the .pst files in an
exported file so it can be imported into another system. The problem is
that this is no longer functioning as it used it. It no longer displays a
window showing the files it is scanning and putting in the export file. It
also never completes and the export file remains locked down unless you kill
Outlook. Please help!

If you need the information (complete .pst file) on the other computer, do not export but copy the .pst file and open it (not import it) on the other computer.

However, if you only require the contacts, for example, you can open the .pst file on the other computer and drag and drop the contacts from the copied .pst file to your .pst file.

As for why it is not completing, try running scanpst .exe against the file to ensure that there are no errors causing the problem. I have seen exports take a very long time to run - ensure that you are giving it enough time to complete.
